An emergency can strike our community, our home and our family unexpectedly, without warning. Do you know what to do? Does your family know how to contact you? Do you have a plan to connect and meet up with your loved ones?
Fortunately, Los Angeles residents have an opportunity to join in an effort to use our powerful resource of community before an emergency helping ourselves, our families, our neighbors and our community prepare, making Los Angeles County ready.

Each and every Los Angeles County resident is invited
to be a part of "Just Be Ready: Prepare Together", one of the most diverse campaigns in the nation in emergency preparedness. Twelve languages and thirteen cultural groups are targeted with this campaign, reflecting the amazing diversity and rich cultural make up of our community. On this site, you will find easy-to-use "Just Be Ready. Prepare Together" educational materials and ready-to-use planning tools that are available in the English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Khmer, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Armenian, Russian, Arabic, and Farsi.

You will find information on how to build a family emergency preparedness plan, including how to contact family members and how to meet up after an emergency. You can also see public service announcements, download emergency preparedness brochures, and view other emergency links. Residents can also call the multi-lingual Public Health Emergency Preparedness hotline at
1-866-999-LABT (5228)
to get more information, and receive valuable emergency preparedness information in the languages listed above. Participate by being prepared yourself and by being an advocate for family emergency preparedness.
